Luxury Tax to Cool Property Market
Taiwan introduces a luxury tax of 15 percent on properties resold within a year and 10 percent on those sold within two years. The aim is to rein in short-term real estate speculation. A separate 10 percent tax is levied on items such as vehicles, furniture and club memberships.
