Cold, wet weather still expected for Taiwan tomorrow (2012/12/04)

原本以為今年第二波的冷氣團今天報到，濕冷低溫會下探13度，結果沒不僅沒下雨，下午氣象局還將北部低溫上修到16度。預報員解釋，這是因為目前只是冷氣團的前緣接觸到台灣，真正變冷會在週三，玉山還有機會下雪。

裹著大衣，大批人馬跑到合歡山，原本想搶先看到今年的瑞雪，結果溼度不夠，只看到山壁結冰。

“一開始有在想(看雪) ，後來好像天氣沒那麼冷”

氣象局原本預估今年第二波冷氣團，週二報到，全台會又濕又冷。預測北部最低溫14度會下雨，結果最後上修到16度，而且還放晴。

“今天可能是有一些前緣下來，造成台灣地區早晚天氣比較涼，不過明天開始可能溫度都會，明顯下降，有下雨機會”

不過，冷氣團周三可真的要報到了，屆時低溫下探13，全台有雨。天氣冷加上下雨，氣象專家說，這時人體感受會更冷。

“最主要是因為水氣蒸發，會吸收熱量，當風越大的時候 ，它帶走的熱量會越多，我們感受的溫度就比實際的溫度，大概會差到4-6度左右”

受到這波冷氣團影響，預計週五才會逐漸回暖，不過緊接著周末東北季風將再度增強。冬天報到，冷的感受會越來越明顯。

Forecasters say a cold air mass will arrive in Taiwan on Wednesday, delaying their prediction by one day. They predict the front will bring lower temperatures and rain. 

Wrapped in coats, a large group of people trudges up Hehuan Mountain. Today their intention was to see snow but there was not enough humidity. All they saw were a few ice formations. 

“At the beginning, I wanted to see the snow, but then it became so cold.”

The Central Weather Bureau originally forecast a second cold air mass to arrive in Taiwan on Tuesday, predicting cold and wet conditions. It forecast temperatures in the north to dip to 14 degrees with rainfall. Later, it revised today’s forecast to 16 degrees and sunshine.

Today was just the leading edge of the cold air mass. It will eventually lead to lower morning and evening temperatures in Taiwan. Tomorrow will see an obvious dip in temperature and more chance of rain.

There may be no escaping this cold air mass, which is now expected to arrive on Wednesday, bringing low temperatures of around 13 degrees with rain expected throughout Taiwan. Forecasters say the rain could make it feel even colder.

When water evaporates it absorbs heat. And when the wind increases, it also takes away the heat. Our perceived temperature may be lower than the actual temperature by about 4 to 6 degrees.

The cold air mass is expected to last until Friday before temperatures gradually rise. However, a northeasterly monsoon is expected to intensify early next week. Conditions will become increasingly cooler as we continue to enter winter.
