New Party chairman denies report of illegal business gains in China (2012/12/05)

新黨主席郁慕明今天大動作召開記者會，回應壹週刊爆料他在中國販賣免稅的亞洲版長壽菸，取得15億的暴利，郁慕明不但全盤否認，還暗批整起爆料，是馬政府在幕後操作。

為最新一期的壹週刊爆料，新黨主席郁慕明利用自己在代理長壽菸到中國販售的國際脈絡公司裡擔任董事的權利，在中國販售台灣菸酒亞洲版免稅長壽菸，謀取暴利15億。

強調不關自己的事，郁慕明接著還意有所指，認為報導是馬政府不滿他之前說要與藍營切割，所帶來的政治打壓。

“倒是馬總統也好，國安會也好，陳院長也好，請注意，用政風人員來要求這個刊物的記者，要來做政治性的打壓的話，那麼這個黑手遲早要出來的”

郁慕明說會對不實報導提告，但這件爆料，意外牽扯出國安系統，也讓藍軍間的內鬨擴散開來。

A report has deepened the rift between the KMT and one of the deep blue segments of the pan blue camp. Today’s Next Magazine accuses New Party Chairman Yok Mu-ming of earning NT$1.5 billion in illegal profits in China. After the report came out, Yok denied the charges and then said he was set up by someone in the Ma Ying-jeou government. 

A report in Wednesday’s Next Magazine levied startling accusations against New Party Chairman Yok Mu-ming.Yok is also the chairman of a company that represents Longlife cigarettes in China, a brand produced by the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation.

According to the report, Yok used his position to sell a duty-free version of the cigarettes in China but still charged a duty. This apparently netted Yok profits of NT$1.5 billion.

Yok says he played no role. He blames his plight on the government and President Ma Ying-jeou, and says it’s a reprisal after Yok threatened cutting ties with the blue camp.

Whether it’s President Ma, the National Security Bureau, or Premier Chen, I want you to heed my words. I know you used an ethics official to ask this publication’s reporter to launch a campaign of political suppression. Sooner or later, the person behind the scenes will step forward.

Yok says he will take legal recourse over the false report. But he has problems with not only Next Magazine but also the national security apparatus, which he thinks was commissioned by the KMT to investigate him. Once again, light has been cast on discord in the pan blue camp.
