大聯盟美聯冠軍戰第二場比賽，只休息三天就上場的黑田博樹，表現十分精彩，主投7.2局不但飆出11個三振，而且前五局還演出完全比賽，但因為洋基的火力還是持續低迷，最後老虎以3比0完封洋基，老虎拿下2勝0敗的領先優勢。至於國聯冠軍賽，紅雀以六比四打敗巨人隊， 拿下第一勝。

美聯冠軍賽第二場，洋基隊37歲的黑田博樹前五局，演出15上15下的完全比賽，還飆出高達8次三振。

但洋基打線依舊欲振乏力，A-Rod和Granderson，持續累積大量三振，六局下半一三壘有人，老虎游擊手Peralta，粉碎洋基得分機會。

老虎優異的守備維持不失分，七局上老虎打破0比0僵局。 八局上半老虎雖然擊出安打，但是二壘跑者衝過頭， 應該已經被觸殺造成三出局，但是一次明顯誤判，造福了老虎也苦了洋基。

老虎把握機會在誤判之後，補上兩支致命的安打，洋基遭到完封0比3落敗，兩隊17號星期三早上8點將移師老虎主場進行第3戰。

國聯冠軍戰部分，紅雀D. Freese一開始石破天驚的兩分彈，四局還有Descalso跟Kozma安打連發，失血止不了，還有C. Beltran，捕上好大的一刀。

C.Beltran兩分彈，紅雀單局四分入袋。前三局完全封鎖的L.Lynn單局失四分，讓球隊六分的領先差點花光，兩邊的先發都只投了3.2局。

紅雀投手車輪戰，守住領先直到終場，最終比數6比4，紅雀收下國聯冠軍戰的第一場勝利。

The Major League Baseball playoffs continued today. In the National League the St. Louis Cardinals relied on an early offensive outburst to take a 1-0 series lead, while in the American League the Yankees continued to look like pretenders against a strong Tigers team. 

Today in the ALCS the New York Yankees blew a magnificent performance from starter Hiroki Kuroda. The 37-year-old remained perfect through five innings, retiring all 15 batters he faced, eight on strikeouts.

Again, it was offense that was the problem for the Yanks. Two of the biggest culprits remained Alex Rodriguez and Curtis Granderson. Each continued to add to growing strikeout tallies. In the sixth inning the Yankees squandered a scoring opportunity with runners on first and third when Jhonny Peralta turned in an excellent play. 

It wasn’t just the defense that helped the Tigers. Up by one in the eighth, the Detroit runner overran the bag and was tagged for what should have been the third out of the inning. But the umpire called him safe. 

The Tigers capitalized with two RBI-base hits. They won 3-0, making Wednesday’s Game 3 in Detroit a must-win for the Yankees.

Meanwhile David Freese of the St. Louis Cardinals kicked off scoring in the NLCS with a two-run home run. In the fourth inning the Cardinals blew the game open by chasing San Francisco Giants starter Madison Bumgarner. Carlos Beltran punctuated the barrage with a two-run shot.

The Giants still had life, scoring four runs off Lance Lynn in the bottom half of the inning to pull within two.

With neither starter lasting four innings, the bullpens proved crucial. Neither surrendered a run, giving the Cards a 6-4 win.
