壹傳媒確定全賣了，中信少東辜仲諒和台塑總裁王文淵，聯合新加坡私募基金，以175億元的高價，買下壹傳媒集團。這個遠遠高於黎智英的150億底價，讓黎智英樂開懷。原本已經簽定合作備忘錄要買壹電視的年代練台生，以及想要購買平面媒體的富邦蔡明忠，確定出局。

壹傳媒確定要賣了，價格有多高，答案是175億元，買家就是前中信金副董辜仲諒，並找來台塑王文淵，合力買下壹傳媒。

回顧壹傳媒的出售過程，有如戲劇般峰迴路轉。黎智英先在9月宣布將出售壹傳媒，傳出就是富邦金董事長蔡明忠出價將近90億想買報紙與周刊。但到了10月，反到是年代董事長練台生率先出手，雙方簽下合作備忘錄14億要買壹電視。但最後辜仲諒以175億元的代價，買下壹傳媒集團，收購價格遠高出黎智英原本開出的150億，而且不包括大樓跟土地，辜仲諒未來還繼續付黎智英租金。

入主壹傳媒之後，是會大力改革狗仔生態，還是持續黎智英的風格，值得觀察。

Reports that Apple Daily, Next Magazine and Next Media were bought by members of two of Taiwan’s wealthiest families came as a shock yesterday. The NT$17.5 billion sale to Jeffery Koo, Jr. and William Wong comes after a series of rumored buyers came and went. 

The Taiwan holdings of Hong Kong’s Next Media Ltd. will reportedly be sold for NT$17.5 billion. The buyers include the former vice chairman of Chinatrust Financial Holdings, Jeffrey Koo, Jr., and William Wong of the Formosa Plastics Group. The deputy of the charity foundation that Wong runs seemed surprised.

I saw the report in today’s paper. I didn’t know beforehand. I really don’t know much about his personal affairs.

There have been many twists and turns in Hong Kong businessman Jimmy Lai’s attempts to sell his Taiwan units. In September Lai announced he would unload the businesses, and reports said Fubon Financial Chairman Daniel Tsai would pay NT$9 billion for the newspaper and magazine units. In October new reports said Lien Tai-sheng, the chairman of ERA Communications, would buy the TV unit for NT$1.4 billion. But in the end Jeffrey Koo and William Wong bought all the Taiwan businesses, held under the umbrella of Next Media Entertainment Services, for NT$17.5 billion. The price exceeds the NT$15 billion Lai originally requested and does not include Lai’s real estate holdings. Lai will receive rent from the new owners.

It is unclear if the new ownership will tone down the sensational, no-holds barred coverage that has made Apple Daily and Next Magazine bestsellers.
