Cuban national baseball team arrives for series of exhibition games (2012/11/06)

古巴隊抵台

明年要參加世界棒球經典賽的古巴國家隊,今天抵達台灣,展開九天行程,包括這個週末六日兩天,古巴隊將和中華隊以及中華職棒聯軍進行三場對抗賽,國內球迷將可以近距離見識古巴紅色閃電的強力棒球.

紅色閃電古巴隊今天來台灣了,一共40人的龐大軍團 ,其中球速超過150公里的王牌投手佩羅索已經是第三次來到台灣.

這個星期六下午五點在台中洲際球場,古巴將首戰中華隊,周日下午五點將在桃園青埔球場,對戰中職聯軍,古巴隊將在台灣停留九天.

Cuba’s national baseball team arrived in Taiwan this afternoon. The storied team will compete in three exhibition games against Taiwanese players as it prepares for the upcoming World Baseball Classic. 

Forty members of the Cuban national baseball team are in Taiwan. Among the biggest stars is ace pitcher Yadier Pedroso. He is on his third visit to the island.

The food here is great and everyone is friendly. Plus the Taiwanese baseball players are extremely professional.

We are extremely happy that we were able to get assistance from Japanese professional baseball this year to invite Cuba, one of the world’s most formidable teams.

On Saturday at 5 o’clock the Cuban team will face Taiwan’s national team at Taichung Intercontinental Stadium. On Sunday at 5 Cuba will face a team composed of players from Taiwan’s professional league at Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium. The Cuban team will be in Taiwan for nine days.
