Competitive public high schools in Taipei to change enrollment tests (2012/11/11)

12年國教後年上路，但想進明星高中，恐怕還得拼特色招生考試。北市教育局日前敲定，將仿照PISA考題，只考閱讀理解素養，和數學素養2個科目，與國際接軌。但北北基學區中，目前也只有台北市有教，讓新北跟基隆的學生擔心，很可能會輸在起跑點上。

補教班開設PISA課程，因應北北基12年國教特色招生，但PISA究竟是什麼，有不少國中生，還是一知半解。

台北市教育局日前決定，103年特色招生，就將採用PISA測驗題型。但目前在北北基學區中也只有北市學校開始教PISA，讓基隆、新北的學生很擔心，會輸在起跑點上。

事實上，PISA是一種國際學生能力評量方式，只考融入英文、社會、公民的閱讀素養，和數學素養兩種科目。

目前這項招生規劃，還沒經過教育部核定。

The start of 12 year compulsory education program will bring about major changes in education such as allowing students access to high school without taking entrance exams. However, competitive high schools in Taipei will still require a test, though they will no longer be using test questions once associated Basic Competency Test, instead switching to a test developed by the Program for International Student Assessment or PISA. The proposed change is not without controversy as only students in Taipei City have been exposed to such curriculum, with students in New Taipei and Keelung unfamiliar with this new test curriculum. 

Cram schools are now establishing PISA-based curriculum as the recruitment of students at competitive high schools under the 12-year compulsory education program in Taipei City, New Taipei, and Keelung will soon use these questions. Still, a number of junior high school students know little about PISA.

Taipei City’s Department of Education has decided that in enrollment for 2014, it will use PISA test questions. But school districts in Taipei, New Taipei City, and Keelung, only Taipei City schools have been using PISA curriculum. This worries Keelung and New Taipei City students who worry that they have lost a lot of ground. 

In fact, PISA represents Program for International Student Assessment and will be assessed into two major areas, reading literacy and mathematics and science.

In accordance with the provisions set forth by the Ministry of Education, the 15 school enrollment districts can be set their own regulations and standards and does not require national consensus.

At the moment, the plan to use PISA questions has yet to be approved by the Ministry of Education.
