應曉薇強烈質疑市府沒有考核投標公司的財務狀況，市政府則解釋有委託徵信社蒐集資料。但應曉薇再批，太極雙星資本額根本不足以承攬如此龐大的開發案。

“7700萬，對不對，可以標BOT七百億的案子，市長，這麼好康耶，請問市民怎麼相信這麼一個公司，可以承擔七百億的BOT案呢”
台北市長郝龍斌則回應，願就此案接受各種形式檢驗，廠商若有任何不合法律規定問題，就不能簽約。
A Taipei City councilor is raising new questions about the recently awarded Gateway to Taipei BOT development project. The project valued at NT$70 billion is coming under question because the councilor says the company that won the project is only a shell company.
The Gateway of Taipei development project comes with a total investment of NT$70 billion. While the BOT project was awarded little more than a week ago, Taipei City Councilor Angela Ying accused the company that won the project of simply being a shell company.

The company winning this NT$70 billion dollar bid doesn’t even have a sign and there are no employees. If you rush into this project and encounter problems, it will be all your fault.
Ying strongly questioned the city government’s assessment of the financial condition of the winning bidder. The city government has commissioned a credit agency to collect information. However, Ying says that this company’s credentials make it ill prepared to handle such a large development project.

(The company’s paid-in capital) is NT$77 million, yes or no, and you can give them a BOT project worth NT$70 billion? Does the mayor really want to offer such a good deal? I ask the public if they trust such a company, and how can they entrust them with a NT$70 billion BOT project."
Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin responded to this criticism by saying that bidders on the project had been investigated by outside parties. If any legal issue arose, the city would not sign the contract.
