Changhua businessman has donated 10 million dumplings to charity (2013/01/03)

彰化一名從事水餃製造的業者，因為小時後家境清寒，發願只要事業有成，一定要回饋社會，六年多前開始，他固定每個星期捐600箱水餃，幫助弱勢兒童，算一算到目前為止，已經捐出一千萬顆的水餃。
社工人員排成一列，以接力的方式，將一箱箱水餃搬下車。
這些水餃，全都是彰化一位專門製作水餃的廠商所捐贈的，6年前開始，愛心從不間斷。

業者陳先生說，小時候家境不好，因此發願有一天事業有成，一定要幫助弱勢小朋友。

寒冬中有這些愛心水餃，小朋友吃在嘴裡，是溫暖在心裡。

Each week there are about 600 boxes of dumplings, which equals about 1.5 million dumplings a year. These assist over 1,600 families and help more than 3,500 children get three meals a day.
The dumpling maker is named Chen Yi-zai. As a poor child he vowed that if he ever succeeded in business, he would devote himself to helping disadvantaged children.

I didn’t have much food and would mostly eat porridge. The clothes I wore were all patched up. When I went to school the other children had book bags, but I wrapped my books in a cloth bag.
Today, Chen’s dumplings provide a warm meal to hungry children in the cold of winter.
