Taiwanese woman gives birth to twins at 62 years old (2013/01/03)

一名六十二歲的婦人，三天前剖腹生下一對雙胞胎，可能創下國內最高齡產子的紀錄。這名婦人是找新竹的王懷麟醫師，以「借卵生子」的方式懷孕，在人工受孕與懷胎過程中出現許多不適症狀，這名產婦都勇敢面對，讓醫師很佩服。

“這位婦人來說她要借卵，其實當時我們也蠻驚訝的，不過她的毅力讓我非常感動，平時整個作息都很正常，也保持運動的習慣，所以我們看得出來她是有下定決心準備懷孕”

這名婦女從50歲開始做人工受孕，不料罹患乳癌，她努力抗癌，完成借卵生子，產下雙胞胎時，已經62歲。

A 62-year-old woman gave birth to twins on Monday, possibly setting the record for the oldest person ever to have children in Taiwan. The women used in-vitro fertilization to get pregnant and persevered through setbacks to achieve her dream. 

It sounds like a movie plot – an elderly woman praying for children. But it has now happened in real life.

When this woman came in and said she wanted donor eggs to get pregnant, we were quite surprised. But I was extremely moved by her determination. Her daily routine was normal and she was in the habit of exercising, so we realized she was determined to get pregnant. 

The woman began trying in-vitro fertilization when she was 50, but had to stop when she came down with breast cancer. Now, at the age of 62, she has fought off the cancer and given birth to twins.
