Nutritionist says it’s best to stay away from salty soup broths

天氣冷,很多人喜歡嗑鍋驅寒,不過,營養師警告,就算是喝來清淡不太鹹的火鍋湯,鈉含量居然高達2500毫克,超過成人一天所需。就連超商的關東煮湯,也喝兩小碗就超標。而市售六款泡麵還被檢驗出,實際鈉含量遠比外包裝標示數字還高,已經被要求下架。
When the weather is cold many people treat themselves to hot pot or soup. But a nutritionist warns that when eating these foods, it’s best to go easy on the broth due to high levels of salt.

許多人喜歡吃涮涮鍋,高湯會一碗接一碗,但湯裡有高達2574毫克鈉。一般的小碗喝六碗,一餐就超過成人一天所需的鈉含量 。如果加上豬肉,沾料吃,鈉更多,一鍋就逼近3000毫克鈉。
Many people love to have hot pot along with the base it’s cooked in. But beware. The soup has thousands of milligrams of sodium. Drink six small bowls and you have exceeded the recommended daily limit. If you have pork or dip the food, you end up consuming even more salt.

而便當店,免費附贈的蛋花湯、蘿蔔湯,一小碗就400毫克的鈉。還有關東煮,麻辣口味,鹽巴下手也很重。
Meanwhile the free egg and radish soups handed out by small restaurants typically have 400 grams of salt per bowl. The mala version of oden is another dish heavy on sodium.

“會增加高血壓的罹患,高血壓又跟心血管疾病,中風甚至腎臟病有直接關係,但國人常常忽略的是鈉攝取其實跟鈣質的排泄有關,就是吃高鈉,會增加鈣質的流失”
It raises blood pressure which is a direct cause of cardiovascular disease, strokes and kidney disease. People also often ignore that sodium intake is related to calcium excretion. If you consume high amounts of salt, your calcium levels will go down.

泡麵鈉很多,大家都知道,不過台北市衛生局卻發現,有些廠商在外包裝標示上卻以多報少,被要求通通下架。
Everyone knows that instant noodles have a high salt content. And the Taipei Department of Health has found that some brands understate the amount of salt they contain.

“以泡麵的建議沖泡,煮的方法呢,會吃到八九百毫克鈉,這是低標的,普遍應該都是在1200到1500”
If you follow the directions for making the noodles, it says you will consume 800 to 900 milligrams of salt. But this is too low. On average you will end up having 1,200 to 1,500 grams.

營養師建議,不論火鍋、泡麵,湯最好少喝,也不要太多沾醬,最好多加新鮮蔬菜。
Nutritionists recommend staying away from the broth that goes with hot pot and instant noodles, and they say it’s best not to use too much dip. Instead, they suggest fresh fruits and vegetables.
