Linkou residents protest park demolition ahead of Universiade

台北市政府今天宣佈成立2017世大運籌委會，並且由市長郝龍斌親自出任籌委會主委，不過，就在同一時間，一群來自新北市林口的居民，因為不滿世大運的選手村將蓋在林口，擔心預定地上的公園，綠地會因此消失，前往北市府遞送抗議信。
The Taipei government launched its preparatory committee for the 2017 Universiade today. But the event was marred by a group of protesters who fear they will lose a park due to construction of the athletes’ village.

“我們要求世大運選手村的錯誤決策立即停止，維持16公頃森林綠地的現狀”
We want the wrong policies enacted ahead of Universiade Taipei to stop immediately. Our 16 hectares of green forest should remain.

遞上抗議信，表達不滿，場外林口居民抗議，北市府內，則是成立2017世界大學運動會籌備委員會，身兼籌委會主委的市長郝龍斌也對選手村問題做出回應
The demonstrators handed in a protest letter expressing their grievances. As they gathered outside city hall, inside the 2017 Universiade preparatory meeting convened. Leading the committee is Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin.

“新北市選手村的用地，本來就是國宅的用地，我們在辦完世大運後，還是作國宅延續來使用，不只保留綠地，還會有50公尺的綠帶”
The land used for the athletes’ village in New Taipei was originally designated for public housing. After the Universiade is done, the village will be used in this capacity. And we won’t only preserve green space. There will also be a 50-meter long green belt.

請來高球天后曾亞妮擔任首波代言，要上國際行銷台北世大運，台北世大運將在2017年8月19到30號舉行12天，預估屆時將有160國12000名選手齊聚台北。
Taipei Universiade is being advertised to the world by Taiwan golf star Yani Tseng. It will last 12 days, from August 19 to 30, 2017. About 12,000 university athletes from 160 countries will participate.
