　　Every religious group has an important time of year. The Islamic faith is no different, and the main event of the year is called Ramadan. It is held during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and lasts for one month. During this time, Muslims fast. 　　There is nothing more important than family. One father has proven this with his dedication to his son. Dick and Rick Hoyt are more than father and son because they are a team. Rick was welcomed into the world in 1962. However, during the delivery, there was a problem and Rick sustained brain damage from not getting enough oxygen. After his birth, he was diagnosed as a quadriplegic with cerebral palsy.

In 1992, they even biked and ran across the US, covering 3,735 miles in 45 days. Team Hoyt is nothing less than inspirational.

　　We all have talents, skills, and things we are especially good at doing. However, some youngsters have developed amazing abilities that average people just can't compare with. Child prodigies are able to understand and do difficult tasks at an adult level, even though they are much younger. One example is Mozart, who started composing his own music when he was only five years old. Most children at his age are only learning the basics of playing the piano.
　　One reason child prodigies are able to learn so well is because of their memory. They use long-term memory more often, which keeps information in their minds for a longer duration. By doing this, they learn how things are connected better and build knowledge on top of knowledge. It has also been found that the strong emotions they have for the things they love excite the cerebellum. This makes it easy for information to come in rapidly and be stored quickly.

　　There are few sports that enjoy popularity across the globe. It goes without saying that soccer is the most recognized, watched, and played sport in the world today. Actually, the sport is called football in almost every country, except for Canada and the US. While its official name is association football, it was eventually shortened. There are huge differences in the way soccer and American football are played. Also, the latter is played with an oval ball, whereas the former uses a round one. The game of rugby also evolved from soccer, making the three sports rather confusing depending on where in the world you live.
　　Soccer has been traced back to more than 2,000 years ago in China. However, the sport has evolved significantly since then, with whistles replacing the handkerchiefs that referees once used to wave around. One thing that has always remained the same is that soccer players are among the fastest athletes in the world. Also, the average soccer player runs around 11 kilometers each game, and the strength of their kicks has been known to break bones. Namely, an Italian soccer player accidentally broke the arm of a spectator with his mighty shot.

　　There has been a lot of discrimination throughout history. A group of people may be accepted in one place but then rejected somewhere else. Sometimes, they even have a hard time finding a place to live in peace. Like many groups and communities, the gay community has events to celebrate freely who they are. They take this time to show the world that they are not going to change that. It is also a time when friends and supporters of the gay community show their love and acceptance.
　　Gay Pride Month is celebrated in the US every June. It is also when the events of Gay Pride week take place. June was chosen because a historic standoff took place in New York City in 1969. There had been a lot of violence towards the gay community for years then. The police were even demanding money from them in exchange for protection. During one incident, the people being attacked stood up for themselves and refused to be bullied. Word spread, and more people came to support them. More police came as well, and the standoff lasted for days. In the end, the Gay Liberation Front was created to stop the violence and hatred against the gay community.
