Ang Lee in Taiwan to promote new 3D film (2012/11/07)

奧斯卡金獎導演李安，執導的第一部3D電影，少年PI的奇幻漂流，月底即將上映，這部片有百分之八十，都是在國內取景，李安說沒有台灣，電影就拍不出來！
一位遭遇船難的16歲男主角，在海上漂流兩百多天，還和同船的孟加拉虎，發展出一段，亦敵亦友的情誼，是少年PI的奇幻漂流，故事主軸。
第一部3D電影，李安把拍攝海上漂流的場景，選在台中水湳機場，而主角漂到的墨西哥海灘，其實是墾丁白沙灣，片中還有不少動物，都來自木柵動物園。

少年PI男主角，印度籍的蘇瑞吉，在三千位競爭者中，被李安看中演出主角。

對於新電影，李安很有信心，能再問鼎奧斯卡。台灣將搶先全球，在11月21日於各大戲院上映。
Taiwanese director Ang Lee was in town to promote his first 3D film, “The Life of Pi.” The film was mostly shot in Taiwan and will premiere in local theaters at the end of the month.
The 16-year-old protagonist in the film is drifting at sea for more than 200 days in a boat with a Bengal tiger. The two develop a friendship which becomes the central plot of the story.
The bulk of Ang Lee’s first 3D film is set in the ocean, in scenes actually shot at Taichung Shueinan Airport. Another scene where the protagonist drifts onto a beach in Mexico is actually Kenting’s Baishawan. And many of the animals in the film came from the Taipei Muzha Zoo.

I brought 150 staff from 24 countries here to make the (film). It’s not just a trip I made to give thanks. I feel very moved. I feel very proud of this film. I have traveled all over the world and said that if it weren’t filmed in Taiwan, it would never have been made.
The young actor playing the role of the protagonist is Indian Suraj Sharma. He was chosen out of 3,000 people who auditioned for the part.

Ang Lee is very confident about his new film and has Oscar aspirations. Taiwan will be first in the film’s global release when it hits theaters on Nov. 21.
