台中市一名黃姓男子，花兩萬元參加泰國六天的旅行團，沒想到在第五天，竟然被安排連跑三個購物行程，黃先生指控遭到旅行社領隊配合店家限制團員行動，就像被軟禁在購物店三個小時，對此旅行社決定和團員和解，但旅行社員工卻表示，有頭腦的人都知道這是購物團。
照片中的黃先生跟團去泰國旅遊，在第五天時，被安排到珠寶店，只是想到外面透氣，卻被幾位泰籍人士擋下，硬是在裡頭待了一個半小時。沒想到，到第二和第三家店，又發生一模一樣的事情，女領隊甚至還配合店家，要團員待在店內。
事發之後，黃先生打電話到旅行社反應，他指出有一位王姓經理反嗆他，要他去檢舉投訴。

之後黃先生氣不過，又到品保協會網路上查詢，結果發現，出團的女領隊，竟然沒有領隊證照。旅行社人員表示領隊因為是特約，他們也是事發之後才知道。
消保官指出，即使是參加購物團，也有拒絕購買的權利，發生類似事件，建議民眾拍照攝影蒐證
A six-day, NT$20,000 trip to Thailand turned into anything but a vacation for a Taichung man surnamed Huang. He says he was shuttled from shop to shop and pressured to buy souvenirs he didn’t want, with the Taiwanese tour group leader complicit in the racket. The travel agency responsible for the trip said if the man had a brain, he would have known what to expect.
In the photo is Mr. Huang. He went with a tour group to Thailand and on the fifth day was brought to a jewelry shop. Huang wanted to step out of the store for some fresh air, but he was stopped by Thai staff. They kept him there for an hour and a half. The same thing happened at the second and third stores the group went to that day. The tour group leader seemed to be cooperating with the shop workers.
After the incident, Huang called the travel agent. He says a manager surnamed Wang was little help, even goading him to produce evidence and sue.

I think anyone with a brain would know that shopping would be part of this trip. You get what you pay for. If I paid NT$10,000 to go to China, I know that I would get shut into a shop.
Huang sought help from the Travel Quality Assurance Association and discovered that the tour group leader was unlicensed. The travel agency claims she was contracted out to their company so they didn’t know. Consumer protection officials say even on a shopping trip, tourists have the right to refuse purchases. In future instances, they encourage travelers to take photo and video evidence.
