不要說"That's not my job."（這不是我份內的事。）只要你的上司讓你做，那你就得做。我們可以說"I'm not sure that should be my priority right now."（我不確定現在是否應該先做這事。）然後和主管討論你的責任為何。
不要說"This might sound stupid, but..."（也許這聽上去有點笨，但是......）永遠不要在發言前加上這種優柔寡斷的口氣來削弱自己的觀點。可以說"What's on your mind?"（你怎麼認為？）這樣可以增強你的可信度，讓你充滿自信地發表意見。
你寫一封英文email要多久?英文email寫作其實有一些共通格式(format)，把一些經典句型記熟，寫一封詢問意見、安排行程的信，只要三、五分鐘就夠了。

我們來繼續之前的英式英語話題，這次是"時間篇"!
台灣人普遍學的是「美語」，如果你到英國，會發現英國人說「英語」－英式英語。美式和英式英語差異越來越大，光應付生活日常用語就鬧出不少誤解。舉個例，談「時間」的表達就常老美和老英楞了一下：
在國際商業場合上，英語以及美語的使用頻率可說是平分秋色，對於熟悉美式英語的台灣學生，若也能學習英式英語用法，遇到英式用字便能迎刃而解，而且到英式英語較普遍使用的地區，如：英國、新加坡、香港等地出差或旅遊時，就不至於有鴨子聽雷的困擾。
民以食為天，出國點餐，到了英系英語的國家，我們常會發現相同的食物卻有兩個不同的用字，舉例來說，在台灣，大家都習慣薯條叫 French fries，但英國的特色小吃 Fish & Chips（炸魚薯條），薯條卻是叫Chips；賣場買得到的糖果，美國人說candy，英國人說sweet；餅乾，美國人用cookie，英國人則說biscuit；而人人愛吃的洋芋片，美國人會說他嗑掉了一桶crisps，英國人則是說potato chips。
在英系英語國家旅遊時，會發現美式和英式英語說法大大不同。
舉幾個例子說明：過馬路時，行人必須走人行道，美式英語的人行道說法為sidewalk，但在英式英語則為pavement；路上的卡車，美國人說truck，英國人會說lorry；而所有大城市都會遇到的停車問題，你會聽到美國人說：hard to get a parking lot，英國人則會說：hard to get a car park。
