最近看《Google模式》這本書，在第75頁，施密特寫了這麼一段話：「工作與生活平衡是另一個被視為開明管理的標準實務典範，但可能對聰明、投入的員工構成侮辱。其實，工作與生活平衡這句話本身就是問題：對許多人而言，工作是生活的一個重要部分，不能分開。最好的文化是邀請員工、並使他們以有益的方式工作過度，讓他們在工作地點和家中都有相當多有趣的事情可以做。所以，如果你是經理人，你的職責是使工作生活愉快充實，你的主要職責不是確保員工週而復始地每週工作40小時。」
