Taiwanese director Huang Hui-chen's film Small Talk was selected as Taiwan's entry into the Best Foreign Language Film category for the Oscars. This was the first time that Taiwan had entered a documentary into this category.
This film is about the relationship between a mother and a daughter. The daughter knows that her mother is a lesbian who only got married because of social pressure. The mother ends up in a bad domestic violence situation and is very silent a lot of the time. Eventually, the mother and the daughter start to communicate with each other over meals.

Last October, Tom took his sister to a popular amusement park. They were very excited about visiting their favorite haunted house. When they entered the haunted house, it was almost pitch-black, so Tom held his sister’s hand tight and kept talking to comfort her. She didn’t say a single word, so he thought she was just too scared to talk. However, as they moved towards the exit and came into the light, Tom turned around, only to find out the terrible truth. He was not really holding his sister’s hand.

This 70-year-old grandmother has hundreds of thousands of fans on her YouTube channel. Park started her channel after her granddaughter suggested that making videos would help her keep her memories sharp. Her videos are about her life and what it's like to grow old. Unlike many younger YouTubers who try to always look perfect, Park isn't afraid to show off her wrinkles when she does a make-up video. She also makes videos giving advice about life or sharing some of her experiences.
