When they entered the haunted house, it was almost pitch-black, so Tom held his sister’s hand tight and kept talking to comfort her. She didn’t say a single word, so he thought she was just too scared to talk. However, as they moved towards the exit and came into the light, Tom turned around, only to find out the terrible truth. He was not really holding his sister’s hand.
