Taiwan-Philippines row escalates as Philippine envoy ignored / 裴瑞茲返國
| The diplomatic dispute between Taipei and Manila over the fatal shooting of a fisherman on May 9 remained deadlocked Thursday, a day after Taiwan imposed several sanctions against the Philippines. A Philippine presidential envoy returned home after being spurned by Taiwan, which was unhappy with the message he was in the country to convey. Local authorities said the statement, released by the Philippine Presidential Office a day earlier, failed to meet their demands. Amadeo Perez, the chairman of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office, was heading home, his mission in Taiwan a failure. Before leaving, he repeated the message he came to Taiwan to deliver. But Taiwan was angered by the characterization of the shooting of the Taiwanese fisherman as “unintended.” Perez also addressed Taiwan’s demand for compensation, but again not to its satisfaction. Taiwan made four demands of the Philippines to resolve the dispute. But even a presidential apology failed to satisfy Taipei, in a dispute that now looks further from being resolved than ever. |
台菲關係直續緊張，除了在昨天啟動11項 對菲國的制裁措施，並且昭回駐菲大使，而二度求見外交部長林永樂遭拒的馬尼拉經濟文化辦事處理事主席裴瑞茲，因為任務失敗，中午一點半和菲律賓駐台代表白 熙禮，搭機返回菲律賓，裴瑞茲身旁，不但有大批警力保護，他還特別在機場發表了一份聲明，重申"apology"，道歉之意。 在機場一陣推擠，來台談判的任務失敗，馬尼拉經濟文化辦事處理事主席裴瑞茲，和菲律賓駐台代表白熙禮，搭機返回菲國。 [[馬尼拉經濟文化辦事處主席 裴瑞茲]] “我以總統艾奎諾三世，指定個人代表身分，來此表達總統及菲律賓人民的深刻遺憾及歉意，針對2013年5月9日，漁業執法行動的過程中，所造成不幸與無意的生命損失” 我方不滿菲律賓把小琉球漁民洪石成的死亡，說成是意外事件，而且培瑞茲這趟來，對於我國四項要求中的"賠償問題"，也沒有正面回應。 [[馬尼拉經濟文化辦事處主席 裴瑞茲]] “我也在此表達，我方已準備好提供經濟援助，給予洪先生的家屬，藉以表達菲律賓人民，對於洪先生不幸逝世的同情之意” 裴瑞茲離台前，雖然有了菲律賓總統府的授權，還說出了"apology"道歉，這個字眼，但未就我國提出的四個要求，做出明確的回應。 |
