香港前天發生撞船意外，造成38人不幸喪命，一百多人受傷，其中一艘被撞的，是香港電燈公司要去看煙火的員工和家屬。事發後，香港電燈公司母公司集團主席李嘉誠，立刻趕往醫院探視病患，並提供三千萬港幣急難救助金。

被撞沈的南丫四號，機身殘破不堪，警方也登船蒐證調查。至於另一艘港九小輪的渡輪，今年九月才剛進行檢查，不過詳細報告還沒出爐，整起事故的原因，還有待更進一步釐清。

香港特區政府決定，從四號起，一連三天降半旗誌哀，四號中午香港公職人員，也將默哀三分鐘。
Many in Hong Kong are still struggling with the aftermath of a boating disaster that left more than a hundred injured and 38 dead. Police are continuing to collect evidence to determine the cause of the crash.
Li Ka-hsing, the chairman of the parent company that owns the Hong Kong Electric Company, rushed to the hospital to visit the injured. Two nights it was the electric company’s boat that sank. Li pledged HK$30 million to create a foundation to assist families of the deceased. He also appeared visibly saddened with red eyes after meeting family members.
The wrecked hull of the Lamma IV is being boarded by police who are collecting evidence. A boat operated by the Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry was checked in September of this year, though a detailed report was not released. Investigators are still seeking the cause of this accident.

Hong Kong’s government has decided to fly its SAR flag at half mast for three consecutive days, beginning tomorrow. Additionally, it will observe three minutes of silence tomorrow afternoon to remember those who died in the crash.
