菲佔太平島

釣魚台外，南海爭議也越演越烈，菲律賓宣布將南海命名為"西菲律賓海"，但海域涵蓋到我國領土太平島，侵犯到我國主權。

外交部表示，菲國挑起爭議的動作，我們一概不承認，但國安會秘書長胡為真八月底才剛到太平島升國旗強調主權，隨後海巡署在太平島進行50年來首次實彈射擊演練，如今菲律賓也欺負台灣，立委要馬總統態度一定要強硬。

Territorial disputes are also festering in the South China Sea. The Philippines on Wednesday formally renamed the body of water the “West Philippine Sea,” infringing on Taiwan’s claims to the Spratly Islands. 

Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry said it would not recognize the Philippines’ provocative move. Legislators also urged President Ma Ying-jeou to take a hard line against Manila, especially after the Coast Guard held its first live-fire drill on the Spratlys in 50 years to assert Taiwan’s sovereignty there.
