CWB predicts a warm winter with less rainfall (2012/11/11)

週六全台高溫還上探31度，但週日受到東北季風和降雨的影響，氣溫立刻下降7度左右，預估要到週四才會回溫。不過，氣象專家已經預估，今年冬天將是暖冬，但提醒明年降雨偏少，最好現在就開始因應。

前一天太陽還露臉標到31度，外出民眾都穿著短袖出門。但才隔一天，老天爺馬上變臉還不時下起雨來。

周四前最低溫下探17度，但氣象專家研判，台灣今年應該是個暖冬。雖然由於北極海冰面積創新低，造成西伯利亞高壓增強，歐洲、美國、中國華南以北，都要小心寒害成災，但對台灣影響有限。

“(今年冬天)台北出現低溫，小於或等於10度的天數，基本上大概是1天到3天左右，台灣的中部跟南部，出現偏正常到偏暖的機會比較高，至於北部跟東部的部分，以出現正常到略偏涼的機會是比較高”

今年第一波大陸冷氣團，大約在12月上旬或中旬左右報到，寒潮則在明年一月中旬南下。氣象專家還預測，台灣明天春天降雨可能較少，提醒最好現在開始因應，省水度過少雨季。

Yesterday was warm and sunny, but today the temperature plummeted by about 7 degrees due to rain and a northeastern monsoon. The Central Weather Bureau says the cold will last until Thursday before temperatures begin to warm. It also predicts a mild winter with less rain. 

The sun was out yesterday and temperatures soared to 31 degrees with many people wearing short sleeves. However, today was a different story, as the skies were overcast and rain began to fall.

Tomorrow (Monday) weather will become dry and cool, and it won’t be until Thursday before temperatures warm.

Thursday could see lows of 17 degrees, but forecasters expect this year’s winter to be relatively mild. Low levels of Arctic sea ice has enhanced Siberian High pressure leading to colder temperatures in Europe, the United States, and Northern China. Fortunately, this weather pattern will only have a limited impact on Taiwan.

(This winter) Taipei will see lower temperatures with basically one to three days at or below 10 degrees. Central and southern Taiwan will see warmer temperatures, with the northern and eastern areas seeing normal or slightly cooler temperatures. 

This year, the first wave of cold continental air mass is expected in early to mid-December though a cold front isn’t expected to move south until mid-January. The CWB expects less rain this winter as they urge everyone to conserve water.
