HTC and Apple agree to end patent litigation (2012/11/11)
宏達電和解
打了多年的宏達電和蘋果手機專利權之爭，上演全球大和解!今天宏達電公告和蘋果的和解協議內容，包括雙方所有專利訴訟，全部撤銷，並簽訂10年專利授權契約，也可以說是蘋果有史以來，第一次專利訴訟的和解案。
智慧型手機大廠宏達電，11日和蘋果手機專利權之爭，終於告一段落!宏達電發表聲明，和蘋果已達成全球和解協議，內容包含雙方所有專利訴訟均撤銷，並且定時專利授權契約，專利授權範圍，涵蓋雙方現有與未來所持有的專利，和解與專利授權契約內容，均為保密。
蘋果和宏達電之間的專利訴訟，就起因於蘋果認為宏達電涉嫌抄襲iPhone的滑動解鎖功能，狀告美國國際貿易委員會，要求禁止宏達電智慧型手機進口美國。
而宏達電也反擊，指控蘋果侵犯宏達電無線傳出資料的專利；如今雙方和解後，宏達電出貨將不再受到影響，而美國法院原本計畫，十一月底宣判宏達電和蘋果之間的專利訴訟結果，現在因為雙方達成和解協議，訴訟案也將撤銷。
HTC and Apple have decided to settle their patent litigation and mutually engage in a 10-year licensing agreement. The new deal allows HTC phones to ship to the US and will cover both existing and future patents though terms of the agreement remain confidential.
Today, top smart phone maker HTC officially ended its long running global patent dispute with Apple. HTC issued a statement saying it reached an agreement to settle past and present patent litigation. It also signed a licensing agreement covering existing and future patents. It added that details of both the settlement and licensing agreement are confidential.
HTC and Apple have decided to settle their patent lawsuit including a claim that HTC used Apple’s patented unlocking mechanism which had led the U.S. International Trade Commission to temporarily ban the import of HTC smart phones in the US.
HTC fought back, alleging Apple violated patents on HTC’s wireless data transmission. As the two sides reconciled today, HTC shipments will no longer be banned by U.S. courts. The settlement also puts an end to a lawsuit which was expected to see a decision handed down in late November.
